Tweet This at Lunchtime Wednesday Using Numbers and at Least 1 #Hashtag

roll the dice

What does the perfect B2B tweet look like? According to the data presented in this infographic, it doesn’t look that different than the headline of this post.

But before I share the data, I want to share this grain of salt: There is no perfect Tweet just like there is no perfect email subject line or “best time” to post a blog.

There’s no universal rule, at least, that applies to all audiences and all brands.

While data like this is interesting, it’s not absolute. It can be incorporated into your regular experimenting and can serve as a nice guide, but you won’t find the answer in an infographic, you’ll find it in your own analytics.

Ok, enough buzzkill. This data is still interesting to take a gander at:

This infographic highlights some big differences from B2B and B2C. The hashtag difference is significant. The thing about hashtags is that you don’t want to go overboard with them and clutter up your post.

You’re right – I think it speaks to the “you’re trying too hard” nature of things. B2B Twitter use is like a stock exchange of ideas between internet gatekeepers, and B2C Twitter use is more for fun. I think that B2B users also gravitate toward established hashtags and B2C users #makethemupforfun

That stat also stood out to me, and you’re right, it’s worth noting. I wrote the headline for this post the way I did because we’re obviously B2B.

      Thanks for dropping by, Nick.
