Branding
The Twitter bird logo is getting a makeover, said to now represent a social network that is poised for more growth and “limitless possibility.” The redesigned blue bird includes an upturned beak, a haircut, sharper aerodynamic feathers, and a sleeker design dropping one feather, according to this analysis. The need for text or a lowercase “t” to accompany the bird is no longer necessary, Twitter writes on its blog.
How do you know when it’s time to refresh your logo?
Social Media
If you haven’t changed your LinkedIn password this week, you might want to. First came the news that the social network’s iOS app might be violating user privacy, and then a hacker posted 6,458, 020 encrypted passwords—without usernames—online. Follow @LinkedIn for the latest.
What kind of content do you post to LinkedIn?
Content
The digital content team of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon wanted to give fans who couldn’t make it to the studio a chance to see what goes on behind the scenes. The team has written and filmed 22 one-minute videos that give backstage tours and that live on the show’s blog. It’s also crowdsourcing content for the show on its blog.
Another story we like: Best Colleges Online came out with its list of the schools with the smartest content marketing. To think, when I started college I didn’t even have a cellphone! Now, kids are able to track their meal plan points on their smartphones, there are YouTube channels for school sports news, and Pinterest boards for dorm decor are popping up. Does your school or alma mater make the list?
This week’s video
At the Ohio high school track championships, a junior female runner helped a fallen competitor make it to the finish line. “I just kind of wanted to help someone else. To see an act of good sportsmanship should be something normal,” says the runner. “Somebody falls, pick them up.”
Have you ever helped someone who wasn’t on your team?
