How Big Will the Internet Be in 2015? (And How Can We Prepare?)

by Andrew Hanelly on May 23, 2012

Two simple questions with (somewhat) simple answers.

From James Collier: In the following infographic Cisco try to demonstrate just how big the web is going to get in only a few short years. As the content we consume gets bigger, more visual and of higher quality the amount of data passing through servers, down phone lines or over the air will continue to grow exponentially.

Some takeaways:

1. Invest in quality video content.

2. Don’t worry so much about creating ridiculously short video (connection speeds will be faster and Internet will replace traditional TV-viewing in a lot of ways. So, people will be inclined and more in the habit of watching stuff longer than 7 minutes).

3. Don’t abandon email. Or your website.

How are you preparing for the future of the web?
